Workshops & Training
Based on my Artists Practising Well and Practising Well: Conversations and Support Menu research I offer workshops and training for creative practitioners and organisational teams. Designed in response to participant group needs they explore the:
Role of affective support, what it is and now it links with instrumental support
Ways in which different forms of reflective practice can support practice
Importance of peer support and how it contributes to creative practitioner wellbeing
Elements of quality practice for participants.
Each workshop includes time to experiment with reflective practice activities including reflective writing, coaching conversations and thinking spaces, each of which leads the development of new skills and awareness. Interested in finding out more about workshops or training please email me.
“Nicola's sessions create a wonderfully safe and encouraging space for both our artists and ourselves as an organisation, to come together to explore and to listen. As artists, practicing well and understanding our individual support needs is something that is often not at the forefront of our minds. Similarly it can be easy for organisations to not fully understand their role and responsibility in this. As an organisation working with freelance artists, particularly within socially engaged practice it's hugely important to be listening and accommodating our artist's individual support needs and to also work together to understand what those needs are and how they can be met. Nicola's training is perfect for this and we very much value her sessions”. Emma Case, Open Eye Gallery.
